Hiiiiiiπππ½ππ½. Did you miss meeee??? I def didπ. Howee youuuu? ( In Mama Deolaβs voiceππ) Forgive me for disappearing last weekβ¦ Man proposes, but God disposesπͺ. Iβm currently typing this in a cramped BRT bus on a cold Monday morning in Oshodi Trafficπͺ.
Imma go straight into the gist cos Iβve missed you too muchπ.
The past two weeks have been quite a handful and omo, I donβt even know where to start from, but as per normal, we meuveπ.
Iβve always been a sucker for the drama that goes on in Lagos, no matter how tiring the state itself is π. Thatβs how on Monday, this old lady and a younger lady were fighting on BRT queue cos of space or sumn like thatπ. It was a heated verbal fight o. So, apparently, this young lady didnβt meet the old woman on the queue when she joined, but when the bus came, she saw the old lady. *Shock!* fgs, the old lady had been sitting elsewhere cos she couldnβt stand on the queue but she had already kept her space. When I sha entered the bus, this kuru woman was still arguing with the old lady. If you see how she was insulting her ehn. People in the bus were even cautioning her to stop, that the old lady was old enough to be her mother. You know what this woman said, β My mother would not be talking to me like this, so she should respect herself.β Ehn, ah!ππ. Mo ni gbam! As people were cautioning the young lady, she was just giving them gbas gbosπ. I kuku minded my business. You canβt be yabbing me on a hot evening in BRT from workπ.
Thereβs one hairstyle thatβs been trending for quite a while now. Personally, I feel itβs a very silly style. Why will you cut your hair, almost everything, and then plait the little thatβs leftπ€¦π½ββοΈ. More people even use dreads or those extensions that boys of my generation are using now. Now, Iβm not against cutting or plaiting your hair. What I find silly is trying to combine both. Habaaa! No be every time you go dey kill 2 birds with one stone abegππ½π.
In Nigeria, sometimes, the PR for some of these nollywood movies is just excessive. At the end of the day, the movie wonβt even really make brainπ. And then, there are some that donβt even get half enough PR, but make so much seeeense. One of them is βAfamefuna.β To be honest, this movie made a lot of brain. It also gives insight into how the entire Igbo business thing works. If you havenβt watched it, you really should. Iβm sure youβll like it. If youβve watched it, lmk what you think of it. I feel Paul is a very stupid boy. I understand where his BS is coming from o, beht even thoughhhhh π. If I nab am for street, I go rough am dieπ.
Speaking of movies, guess whatttt!!! I started watching K-dramaaaaa!!!! For years, my friends have tried to persuade me to watch K-drama or listen to K-pop but I never gave in. They also tried to drug me into anime, J-drama, and Bollywood, but I neva greeπ, so I dinor disappoint you fullyπ€. This past month, I donβt know what ju-ju one of them used for me, but I asked for a K-drama reco. and she delivered. The K-drama she recommended is βBusiness Proposal.β Omoo!!!!! I canβt even explain how excited I am/was π. Lately, Iβve been happier. Itβs K-drama thatβs making me smile like a love-struck fool oππ. Even though Iβve not finished it (Iβm on Ep. 10/12) itβs been so amazing so far. All of you who have been watching K-drama, why didnβt you tell meeeeππ? Kang Tae-Moo + Shin Ha-Ri π₯Ήπ«±πΎβπ«²πΎ. If you donβt watch K-drama, you really need to tell me what you do in your free timeπ.
One of these past days, I saw 2 car accidents in one evening. Barely 30 minutes away from each otherπ. The first one was at Oshodi. A commercial bus hit a Venzaππ. It wasnβt even a yellow bus o. It was one of those big blue and white busesπ. Omo! I couldnβt even comment, cos shock wan wound me for the BRT bus wey I dey. Barely 30 minutes later, at Dopemu, I saw another one. A small truck and a car were kissingπ. I donβt even grab how those ones bashed themselves. Craze driving everywhere for this Lagos.
By the wayyy, If you pass through Ikeja, youβd have seen that thing theyβre building across the bridge. Abeg what is it?π I heard itβs a pedestrian bridge, but omo, e no resemble am. I canβt even place what it looks like. Theyβve been building that thing since last year. Theyβve not finished it since. Theyβre just doing slow-slow like all these K-dramas. Be putting somebody in stupid suspenseπ. I couldnβt find a picture of it, if not, Iβd have shown you.
Guess what againnnn!!!!!
Iβve started learning how to driveππ½ππ½ππ½π!!!! By the time I finish learning, omo, itβs over for yβallπ. Lagos go hear am say pesin jus learn finissshhhhππ½ππ. Even though I donβt have a car or what Iβll use to show Lagos pepper yet, Iβm still learning o. When I finish learning, Iβll be borrowing your carsπ€, until I buy mine. But until then, I go still humble, dey use public busπππ.
Unpopular opinion, but ewa agoyin is overrated abegπͺ.
And yes, I said what I saidπ
Also, is it now a trend, cos why am I seeing more people walking the streets of Lagos with their dogs? Theyβre literally everywhereeeππ. Today itβs chihuahua, tomorrow, itβs German Shepherd. You wonβt even see them walking all those low-maintenance dogs o. Itβs all these special breed dogs theyβll be carrying about on their stupid leash. Me thatβs now scared of dogs. If you see how I give those dog-carrying people social distancing ehnπ. The worst part is when theyβre walking across the Pedestrian bridge with their dogsππ. Is your dog a pedestriannnππ? Uncle, itβs either you and your dog will cross the express, or you climb the pedestrian bridge, and let your dog cross the road. You have to choose one o, cos I canβt even stand seeing one more person with their dog on the pedestrian bridgeπ.
I was at Mile 12 over the weekend, and I saw some fruits I had never thought we had in Nigeriaπ. My close-minded self thought we didnβt grow them in Nigeria, but mehnnnn, if you see those veggies and fruits in Mile 12!!! Youβll yinmu at Shopriteβs grocery section sef. I saw aubergines, striped cucumbers, striped watermelons, and very large pumpkins. As in, very largeeee!! Those people in the north are growing stuff o. If you see those big big fruits at quite affordable prices for their value ehn. I even saw 2 Indians and a Pakistani there. Prolly shopping for their big restaurants. Theyβll now charge 30k for a meal when they bought ingredients 5k π. Thatβs their consain sha.
I had my very first presentation in my office on Thursday. It was during our knowledge-sharing session and omo, I was scaredddddππ. I spoke about the power of journaling. If you see how I was shaking ehnπ, but yes I pulled through and everybody clapped so loudlyπ€. Presenter tΓ³ sharpπ.
Welll, I think thatβs about it. All the tea on everything that happened in the past fornightπ. Thanks for sticking around. Ilyyyβ€οΈ.
PS. My best friend has a severe fever and my sister is writing SSCE. Put them in your prayersss. Pleaeeaseee π₯Ή. Iβll buy you Super Yogoπ.
Signing out to finish my K-dramaπ,
